2000
This year was filled with vacations for Tim and Viki.
We started with a trip in February by train to the Grand Canyon.
We visited Marian and Sherry in LA and then met with Mick in Flagstaff. Our tour of the Grand Canyon included the Grand Canyon,
Monument Valley, Arches National Park, Mesa Verde, and the Petrified Forest.
We covered Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico in 4 days.
At the end of May, Tim and Viki celebrated their
anniversary with a trip to Harrison Hotsprings, British Columbia. It was a wonderful weekend.

At the beginning of June we made our annual weekend
trip to a townhouse on the oceanfront at Parksville, British Columbia.
The weather was cold and rainy this year, but that didn’t stop Kathryn
whatsoever from spending time on the beach.
The Mitchells came up and camped at Rathtrevor Beach, nearby.

At the end of June, we rented a cottage on the
waterfront at Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island.
We had numerous visits from an abundance of relatives on the Island and
even a few visitors from the Mainland.

In August, Tim, Viki, Stan and Kathryn made a train
trip to Wisconsin and had a wonderful two weeks.

Wisconsin trip, use the following link.
We finished off the year at home, with an American
Thanksgiving dinner for 19 relatives. Pam
was the first Mitchell to attend, thanks to Kathryn.
We had a few changes with the children this year.
Here’s the latest:
Tim is now in charge of more than 70 staff, including
payments for Child Care, Bus Passes, Seniors Supplement, Customer Service,
Administrative Payments, Accounting & Reconciliation and Payroll for
the financial branch of the Ministry of Social Development & Economic
Security.
Viki is now working as a research officer in the executive
wing of the Ministry for Children and Families.
Tracie is living with James Hill in Victoria, BC and
still works as a supervisor of beauty for the Canadian Superstore.
James is living with his mother in Cobble Hill, BC.
He bought a dune buggy this year and worked on a farm for several weeks.
Kathryn is a teenager now and is in Grade 8.
She is a consistent A student and visits Tim every other weekend.
Damon’s big news is a second year without any alcohol,
plus he quit smoking. He got a job
with Andrew Sheret Plumbing in the warehouse.
Lovisa moved out on her own and has been working
for the Province of BC as a clerical assistant for a year now.

Marika, Viki, Lovisa
Marika has been working for Andrew Sheret for a
year now as an accounting clerk. She
loves her job. She recently moved
back in with us.
Stan continues to do well. He lives in Victoria and is busy with teaching, writing,
