Get to Orlando by Air

The best way to get to Orlando is by Orlando International Airport. Disney World is about 20 minutes by cab from the airport. Renting a car is a good option for Orlando because of all the different theme parks you might like to visit. You can also use a shuttle service like Mears Transportation or Orlando Shuttle Service.

Get to Orlando by Rail

Brightline opened its new hourly rail service between Orlando and Miami in the spring of 2023. You can reach Miami in 3 hours on the non-stop service. You can also catch the service that stops at West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura. The Brightline Orlando rail station was built as an addition to Orlando International Airport, so you are a few short steps away from your flight. Service includes an option for first class tickets. A family ticket is also available.

Brightline is a great way to extend a visit in Florida between Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando without renting a car. Plus you can avoid commuter traffic. Brightline intends to expand their service from Orlando to Tampa as their next project. Future plans already under construction include Brightline West service from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga and California’s Ontario International Airport.

Visit Orlando – Background

When people think of the city of Orlando, they think of Disney World, even though Disney World is about 20 miles southwest of the city in Lake Buena Vista. Walt Disney began purchasing land here as early as 1963. The Disney World Resort opened in 1971 with the Magic Kingdom and now covers more real estate area than the city of Boston. Universal Studios and Sea World have followed suit and joined in the tourist bonanza. Over 50 million people visit each year and the Orlando airport is among the busiest in the United States.
